Many times, a lot of people came to me and asked , “Is it necessary to learn in a DJ school? I can learn from my friends who is a DJ or I can learn it from the internet like youtube etc”
Well, in my opinion, you can learn djing in any way you want, you can sign up for dj classes,or you can even learn on your own. In fact a lot of greats DJs did not go to DJ school.
But why DJ Classes?
In DJ Classes, students are taught by experienced DJs. You will be taught in a systematic way and you will learn it much faster than doing it on your own because there is somebody to check on you every time you mess up. Your teacher is like your coach. They will monitor your progress and they will share with you all their secrets, tips and tricks.
On top of that, you are surrounded with people with the same goal, they wanna be a dj too. You can exchange knowledge, more opportunities can be seen, and you will be exposed to more things, much faster than self learning. On top of that, you will get a chance to network with the main djs in the industry.
Like I said, it is ok to learn on your own, but a DJ school is a place where you can learn it much faster and easier. Time is money, so don’t waste it.

very well said... everything that you mentioned is why i joined mixology... and still feel very attached to it even though im hardly there... the part of getting tips and tricks from experienced DJs in mixology is so true with DJ Fuzz and DJ Krates... they have always answered each and every question i've had for them and always given their answers as experienced DJs... to me, they always share their tips, tricks and experiences which really helped me in understanding what it means to be a DJ!
