About DJ Krates

Kamil Kaide is a young man with a mission. Fondly known as DJ Krates in the DJ scene, this Klang raised home boy has been around for a while. He started DJing at the age of 15 years old, when he enrolled in Mixology DJ Academy owned by the Malaysian Finest Bumsquaddjz, DJ Fuzz.

After he had graduated from Mixology DJ Academy, he stayed there as an Instructor passing the knowledge of music to new students with the same dreams.

Like all struggling DJ’s, he started his career from building a foundation for himself by spinning in small events such as prom nights and weddings. Drawing from these experiences, he then ventured into the clubbing circuit, earning more experience and exposure. DJ Krates took charge of the deck at some of the largest jam-packed dance floors clubs and concert such as DV8 Club KL, Laundry Bar, China White, Envie Club and many more.

DJ Krates is one of the most versatile and a dedicated DJ on the bar and club circuit with a unique and professional approach to his work and is able to spin and mix heart thumping beats of Hip Hop, RnB, Dancehall and Reggaeton.

DJ Krates seizes new challenges by participating in various DJ Competitions such as Juice DJ Quest, Fort Minor DJ Battle and Malaysia DJ Battle 2007. DJ Krates excels in providing the best sounds and proves to be an excellent personality when he won the recent highly anticipated JUICE DJ Quest 2009 and earned himself Champion for the Turntablism segment.

Notwithstanding, DJ Krates is now expanding his talent by making his own party breaks and trying his hands at beat-making. He is also working on his series of mixtape, Kratesomniac which includes collaborations with HipHop artists from the U.S and France. DJ Krates Mixtapes can be found in datpifff.com and other various internet promotion sites and stores. Not only that, DJ Krates is one of the official DJs for BUM SQUAD DJZ.

Internationally, DJ Krates has been carving his name performing in Europe, at @home, in the UK for New Years Eve Party and also in Laos for Carlsberg Green Night Party and more. Due to his emerging talent on the decks, DJ Krates was invited to collaborate with L.O.G (Laos Original Gangsta) for their album launch in Laos.

Embarking on new challenges as a DJ and an instructor, DJ Krates now concentrates on gaining recognition in the country, bringing his talent and tunes to a new breadth and with high hopes of spreading it around the globe.
